Youth trafficking is rarely like the movies. Cinematic films like “Taken” display exploitation as dramatic and unpredictable kidnappings. Unfortunately, most youth are trafficked by adults they know and trust, with 50% of trafficking cases having family members as the perpetrators.

The age of social media only heightens the risk of youth building relationships with unsafe adults and increases the access predators have to minors. An estimated 300 million minors are sexually exploited online each year.

Parents, we know it can be difficult to keep up with all of the different safety locks, screen time loopholes, and app-related dangers. Our hope is that our Online Safety Guide will make keeping your children safe an easier process.

Our guide explains common risks and warning signs, important conversations to have with children, and tools you can use to make sure the internet is not a dangerous place for your child to be.
