GRACE’s May Impact

May was an amazing month at GRACE, and June is going to be even better!

May was a month filled with success stories for the youth in our program! We have some exciting community events and service opportunities for June you’re not going to want to miss! So, what have we been up at GRACE?

May GRACE Wins

This month we had amazing wins with the young women and girls in our program! Here are just a few success stories:

  1. One youth in our program experienced a breakthrough in her progress and was able to disclose some recent struggles to our Client Care Coordinator. Because of her trust-based relationship, we were able to support the youth with connecting to additional support centers!

  2. Two of our youth graduated high school in May, and one young woman in our program enrolled in school again!

  3. One youth moved to a new apartment with the help of GRACE staff and our GRACE transportation van, and another young mom is in the process of transitioning to a better long-term living environment.

  4. A youth in our program was able to get her hair done for free thanks to GlamGarage.

This May, GRACE has been very active as well. We were able to partner with 13 other local nonprofit organizations through The Well Community for Women’s Generosity Reimagined event, we worked with community partners and celebrated local accomplishments at Your Safe Place’s first annual anti-trafficking event, and we shared our mission with 250 youth at the Ray & Joan Kroc Center! We would also like to thank Elaine with I Support The Girls for her generous donation of bras, underwear, makeup, jewelry and hygiene products for our girls!

June Support

All of the accomplishments our youth experience, and all of the lives we are able to touch as an organization is thanks to your support! If you are unable to support financially but would like to make a difference, here are some other immediate needs our youth have:

  1. Seeking a dentist for a youth who is missing her front teeth

  2. Looking for a car for a young mom of 3 who has no transportation. This is a barrier for childcare, going back to school and getting a full time job.

  3. Del Mar Fair ticket donations to support our summer field trip for our youth! These adventures help youth build childhood memories they might not otherwise have!

  4. Shelf-stable food to restock our GRACE Refuge emergency shelter. This includes items like baby formula and kid-friendly meals like Mac-and-cheese.

If you’d like to support us as a volunteer, we are actively in need of more individuals to join our transportation team to provide weekly, safe rides to and from our GRACE University.

Another way to get involved is to sign up to join our prayer team! If you’re interested in intentionally praying for the needs of our girls each week, please fill out this interest form!

We are so grateful for the ways you partner with us! If you want to get more involved with our mission and aren’t sure how you might be able to help, send us an email at [email protected]. We want to make space for you to use your talents and passions to support our youth!
